If blogging had existed in the times of William Shakespeare, he would have dedicated one of his plays to blogging. The great playwright would have put the rhetorical question "To blog or not to blog?" but after investigating this topic by the means of WebQuest he would have said "To Blog!"
- What is blogging?
- What are the types of blogging?
- What are the rules of a successful blog?
After investigating the information, create your own Power Point Presentation about Blogging.
Good luck!

"Presenting With Power Point"(http://tep.uoregon.edu/technology/powerpoint/docs/presenting.pdf) is an interesting and very useful article about how to present using a Power Point slide show. As far as we know, computers give us a lot of possibilities and from a certain point of view, make our life to be easier. It is difficult to speak to an audience and make it listen to you and focuss attention on what you are speaking about. This article helped me to understand all the peculiarities for presenting my PPt and from a certain point of view my groupmates and teacher said that it was a good job. I think everyone should access that link and develop his/herself skills for having a good PPt presentation. To Blog! Cristina

ReplyDeleteHello again to everyone! Last week, thanks to our professor, we learnt some new things, that is - Avoiding Plagiarism and successfully making a Power Point Slideshow. I admit I created a PP presentation just once in my life and I thought this is a piece of cake. Well, after reading the Power Point Practices(http://tep.uoregon.edu/technology/powerpoint/docs/presenting.pdf) I realized I was wrong. The article Presenting with Power Point! turned out to be very useful! I didn't know that I am not supposed to read all that is written on the slides; I didn't know that I have to be focused on the audience, interact with it and catch as much of its attention as possible; I didn't know that the displayed information has to be short and concise, so that people wouldn't rely only on the material put down on the screen, but would stay concentrated on the presenter. Now I know all these things and, next time, I'm surely going to do a better job.

ReplyDeleteI consider the article "Top Ten Slide Tips" a very useful article due to the fact that it provides a very interesting and helpful information about how to create a perfect slide show. The information is new and very easy to understand, as for me I have learnead that we should not rely on the slide itself, because it is a support for us and we shoulden't read the informartion from the slide but we should keep an eye contact with the audience while talking. Another thing that I have learned is that a slide presentation with less text on the slides and more high quality images is the most successful. Go ahead and read the article!

In creating this Power Point Presentation, I have learned a lot of things, related to building a successful presentation, that I didn’t know before. I have learned that the simpler a presentation is, the more success you will have. Also, the thing that I will remember is that, if the room is dark, the background should be dark too, and vice versa. I have learned that the slides should contain qualitative pictures, diagrams if needed, and what is very important – the slides should have very few text, a few lines only, that means the most important information. And all these, due to the article Top ten tips (http://www.garrreynolds.com/Presentation/slides.html)

The article " Presenting with Power Point" helped me a lot. I found useful information about using Power Point Program, for example: the slide show presentation should be a background for you, because the main character is you and not the screen, also the information you provide must be concise and interesting. Thus, you may use photos, videos or images related to topic. These things I didn't know, but I'm going to follow these steps for sure. Remember the advice from the article, involving the imagination and hard work - these things will help you become a Power Point Master!

ReplyDeleteI learnt from the information presenting in ''Presenting with PowerPoint'' that I should discuss what is keyed in the text but not simply read a list. Also,I should keep in mind that 99% of the time,I should be looking at students not the projection on screen or computer screen. Many students have stronger visual skills
than auditory skills, and so PowerPoint is effective in holding their attention,so I should keep them focused on me, and not on my slides.
PowerPoint can be used interactively as well, for e.g. I can use PowerPoint for interactive games using action buttons, for instance. Also,I understood that some students are easily distracted when the pointer (the arrow) moves across the screen during the presentation. So, to circumvent this problem,I use the arrow keys
to navigate slides or hide the pointer. For a good PowerPoint Presentation I should practicing my presentation in the slideshow view before presenting it.

In the same time, I found in it important information that I didn't know before.I didn't know that in Power Point could be introduced not only images but also video clips.Another important rule that was discovered for me was that 99% of the time ,the presenter should look only at the audience ,not at the projection screen or computer screen. Now i know that it is very important to attract the audience's atention .With the help of Power Point Presentation everything can be done.

Power Point Presentation is a very interesting way to present a information. Thus, we can make the listeners or target audience to be interested in. Besides all this, we have to know that is not so easy to present a PPt, we need to take into consideration a lot of tips. For example: to have a direct eye contact with the public, to show to people that you are self confident. Also is very important to use a lot of pictures,high-quality graphics, sound files, videos and so on. In such a way , your PPt will look more colorful. One more point is: never read the information from the slide, this is totally forbidden, this makes the audience get boring and also seems that you are not prepare to present it. I know that it needs a lot of time, but if we want to make it better we must to sacrifice few hours doing it. I worked earlier with a PP, but it was very simple due to the fact that I didn't know all these tips, and all this information. I hope my PPt will help someone, and also i hope it is interesting. Enjoy it!

ReplyDeleteHonestly, I have not used very often PPt and I did not know so much about it. Even if I knew how to do a slideshow, I did not know very well how to present it. It is a little bit difficult for me to present a PPt, but I had the opportunity to learn how to do a successful PPt Presentation, that is due to our Applied English classes and teacher’s help.
The information from this link [http://tep.uoregon.edu/technology/powerpoint/docs/presenting.pdf] was very useful , I put it into the practice and it helped me in my own PPt Presentation. This information contain several good practices in presenting with PowerPoint.I like it and I think it will help you and you also will like it. Good luck!

ReplyDelete"Presenting With Power Point" is a very useful and good article for people who don't know how to use the Power Point. But I knew how to use as I did Power Point Presentations in my high school. I read many articles that have helped me develop my knowledge about Power Point. There is another article that I strongly recommend my colleagues "How to Create a Good Presentation in Power Point" : http://www.inc.com/guides/201102/how-to-create-a-great-powerpoint-presentation.html. Besides, there are very useful and helpful Video information on Youtube. Just write "how to use" or "how to make" and some other slide shows will appear. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqI149PD4v4 ;
